A gallery portal like look. Stats, calendar ( when mouse over on a day, it will inform how many images were added on this day ), top posters, top commenteds or rated ones

These are all on the leftside.

On the rightside same with the present one but listing will be better if listed like:


Search engine

below:

icon - category - photo count - comments - last comment - last photo added

which will finally look like:

Nao....the thing he suggested was for gallery's home page not sites, so that pretty much fits well under the gallery(Sort of like Arcade's home).

Yes, I just suggested them for gallery, calendar , posters were all for the gallery brother.

Yes I did get it, but everyone always wants to have CMS-like features to their homepage... We have limited room available, and it's really about showing pics, not stats all over the page ;)

I understand. I am very happy with the present features of smf-media. Actually it has more features than premium media scripts.

I told those suggestions only because you may get bored and want coding sth and changing sth with media mod. Just to broaden the horizon of imagination.

Why not just use one of the portals that are already available and have all those features plus more?
My personal pick is TinyPortal (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php), works great with SMF and SMF Media Gallery. ;)

True enough, but only for now.

While the public release(s) of TP that are currently available only work for SMF 1.x, it will work for SMF 2.x once that version of SMF comes out of Beta. No time/date for the release will be set of course, but it is generally thought to be soon after the SMF 2.x release.

Personally I prefer Portal MX... it's working great along SMF Media Gallery and SMF 2.0 already ;-)

I use TP in 1.1.x for more than 3 years !!!!!!! its a great portal with a few bugs that i have used to them  :)

i have installed simplePortal in smf 2 rc1 , seems to work great until now, i haven`t fully set it up yet ....

As for SMG main page, i like it the way it is, of cause there always  space for something better :)
just make it fully customizable if you ever make it  8)
