Title: problems with this site's theme...
Post by: Kindred on October 25, 2008, 02:47:26 am
the topnav drops a line for every "button" in IE7

it goes
Home
            Community
                                 Help
                                           Search
                                                         Profile

(actually, that's all I can see, beause the rest drops behind the forum contents)

Also, the linktree/breadrumbs don't actually link....

Stupid question.... Did you try to refresh? Did you enable a theme other than the site's default? (which is silentwave_20b4)

I believe I fixed it now, I have tested it in IE7 on two machines. So it should be fixed, make sure to clear your cache :).

The best fix is to not use IE7 ;)

Just kidding, sort of.

It is always a pain to test for all of the popular browsers.

IE7 should be burried.

Yeah, it should be murdered to death on the bonfire of standards. Until it's dead, and then some.

IE7 users are most likely McCain voters, too. Beware!! ;D

ROTFL...  you couldn't pay me to vote for McCain.

anyway... it does seem to be fixed now.

(I use IE because that is what most of the world uses. :(   and what my business sites have to support)

FF has an 29%
Opera and mac users are the rest 1%

Educate them, then.
I have much, much larger Opera shares (>30%) because I've educated my readers about how it's good, efficient and very usable.

I can not educate the general public...   when I say my business sites, I mean just that. B2B websites for publications. If I had a limited audience, I would try to educate them... however my audience ranges in the tens of thousands per month. Too many to "convince".

(actually, personally, I don't like Opera, I prefer FF.)

Yeah, but that's because you suck.  8)

As I like telling FFFans -- whenever you can find me a tab manager for FF that allows me to open 100+ tabs and not having to scroll a tab bar to access any of them, then be my guest, I'll become a hardcore FF user... Opera allows me to have tabs that are even 3 pixels wide if I'd like... Or even smaller but that's a bit abusive.

You just called me a "sucker".....

lol...    I can't stand having more than 4-5 tabs open anyway. I get easily confused.

The amusing thing is that I have my FF skinned to look exactly like IE7.

Change your theme to the SMF default! I've been doing that for some time...
